This quote means that if you are obedient to others, then that mean that you are a good person toward others and if not, then that means that you are not a good person. And for example, if you are obedient and obey those who have helped you, then that means that you are a good person with who ever you are people will trust and help you out. And if you are not obedient to others and not good with them, then that means that you will not be respected and people will not respect you. For example, if you break the rules, then that means that you are not obedient to others or to yourself because what you did is a bad thing and others would not like to be with you or around you because your are not obedient.
